About Us

In June 1951, the equipment of St. Frances Academy High School moved to the new Diocesan High School building at 1524 West Parrish Avenue. St. Frances Academy’s former student body attended Owensboro Catholic High School for the first time in September 1951.

Owensboro Catholic Schools are a Catholic/Christian school system that provides a quality education to its students. We do this in a disciplined, safe environment rich in tradition.

We offer students and their parents a family atmosphere, challenging curriculum, caring and professional teachers and opportunities for spiritual and academic growth.

Owensboro Catholic Schools are fully accredited by the State of Kentucky’s Non-Public Schools Commission. The Owensboro Catholic Elementary has two campuses. The K-3 Campus serves our Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Grade students while the 4-6 Campus serves our 4th, 5th and 6th grade students. This allows our students to collaborate academically and socially to create a strong school unit.

Owensboro Catholic Elementary (as a part of the Owensboro Catholic School System) shares in the mission of the Church in cooperation with families to provide a religious and academic education, which prepares students to become responsible members of family, Church and community.

The Elementary K-3 Campus is dedicated to Mary through the Annunciation, the Elementary 4-6 Campus is dedicated to Mary through the Immaculate Conception, OCMS is dedicated to the Holy Family and OCHS is dedicated to Mary through the Assumption.

To that end, students receive religious instruction daily, attend Mass weekly, participate as liturgical ministers (cantors and lectors), and partake in school wide community service projects.
